How to Host a Virtual Birthday Party

We know your children are missing their friends and birthday parties are being cancelled due to the Covid-19 outbreak. Since our community Virtual Birthday Parties have been such a hit we wanted to help you host your own Virtual Party from the comfort of your home. It's a great way to keep the little (or big) ones entertained. Here are some of our suggestions for throwing your own Online Party!

1. Invitations
We love Facebook Events for this so your attendees get a reminder to come to your Virtual Birthday Party. See how to create a Facebook Event here! You can also use services like E-vite or a good old fashion text message or phone call.
2. Hosting
Hosting there are many different sites that can use to video conference with friends and family including Houseparty, Google Hangouts, Skype or for our party we used Zoom Meetings which has a free basic plan for up to 100 participants. All you need to do is download the app, set up a "meeting" and send the link in your facebook event page or however you would like to distribute it.
3. Food
You can encourage your virtual guests to prepare themselves a special treat for the party and order a cake mix and frosting on your next contactless grocery order for your household
4. Decorations
As the host of the party, create a fun atmosphere for your virtual party guests by decorating the space you will be sitting in during the party. Use decorations you have on hand from previous parties or order some delivered right to your door from Paper & Parties. Click this link to see our favorites. We suggest a banner, noise makers, party hats and balloons. Invite your online party guests to decorate before the event as well!
5. Games
Everyone loves games! Why not play some online Pictionary, Charades or a Scavenger Hunt with items everyone would have in their household. The first person to return with the item back to their screen gets a point!
Add some party tunes and we think you're all set to host the perfect Virtual Birthday Party. If you are feeling a bit overwhelmed feel free to join in on one of our community Virtual parties happening Friday's at 1pm PST. Head to www.paperandparties.com for more details on our next party.
